The period surrounding death is a time of fear, pain, confusion and numbness. It is a time when our faith is put to the test, and when to use the words of Jesus on the Cross, all our being cries out My God, my God, why have you forsaken me!

This booklet provides resources to help the dying person to surrender with confidence into the arms of a loving God, and to comfort the family and friends of those who are gathered.

Come, Lord Jesus is intended to be used by a member of the family, a member of a hospital chaplaincy team, or a priest. Part One provides a rite to accompany the death of an adult, while Part Two provides a similar rite to accompany the death of a child.
