Description
0An Irish translation of Pope John Paul IIs letter renewing the ancient devotion of the Rosary
With this letter Pope John Paul II encourages the Christian community to rediscover the treasures of the prayer of the Rosary.
It is described as a prayer of great significance, destined to bring forth a harvest of holiness. The Pope concentrates on the Rosary as a Christocentric prayer, a compendium of the Gospel, where one learns to contemplate Christ with Mary.
The value of the Rosary as a family prayer is underlined and a special appeal is made to young people to take up the prayer with the enthusiasm typical of their age group.
The theology of the prayer is explained and even enlarged. The prayer is enriched by the addition of five new mysteries – The Mysteries of Light – in which Christ light of the world is contemplated in his public life, proclaiming the Kingdom of God.
