Description
A legendary room, with precious eighteenth-century amber panels that graced a tsarist palace in St. Petersburg, was stolen by Nazi invaders. Considered by some to be the “eighth wonder of the world,” it was last seen during the chaotic scramble at the end of WWII. Official statements announced the panels were destroyed in the ravages of fire, along with much of Europe’s art and antiques during the war. Case closed.
But while East Germans sang freedom songs before Stasi headquarters in Leipzig, one man desperately searched through old Communist files, not knowing he would encounter a forty-seven-year-old document that just might reopen the door to the Amber Room.
Jeffrey Sinclair has made deep contacts into former Eastern Bloc nations, and he and Katya are pulled into a trail of dangerous intrigue and coverups as they search for the truth.
