Author
Leen and Kathleen Ritmeyer met in 1975 on the Temple Mount excavations in Jerusalem. Dr Leen Ritmeyer served as site architect on this and other major digs in Jerusalem and throughout Israel. His archaeological reconstruction drawings have appeared in numerous books and journals, both popular and academic. He holds a doctorate from the University of Manchester, England, the subject of his dissertation being: “The Architectural Development of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem”. Kathleen holds a BA degree in Archaeology from University College Dublin. Apart from the Temple Mount dig, where she worked as area-supervisor, she has participated in excavations in the west of Ireland, the Outer Hebrides in Scotland and Tel Akko in Israel. Since 1983, she has worked together with Leen in their firm Ritmeyer Archaeological Design. Her expertise is writing and translating from Hebrew to English. She has also designed audio-visual shows on the Dead Sea Scrolls and on other archaeological topics.
