Description
In today’s world, we can often feel at sea, unsure of where to turn in times of trouble. We might want to pray, but don’t know where to start or what to say. Here, in The Simplest Prayer: A Book of Love and Faith, the Irish Franciscans show us how we can find a sense of peace and solace when we need it most.
With practical advice on meditation and using Jesus’ own words for help in difficult times, this beautifully illustrated book shows us how we can bring him into our lives and achieve that sense of happiness and serenity that we all seek. It reminds us that we are loved and that, even in the darkest times, we are not alone. We can bring peace to our lives in the simplest way and with the simplest prayer: to Jesus.
The Simplest Prayer is based on The Year of the Holy Name of Jesus and on a website created by the Poor Clares and the Irish Franciscans for the Year of the Holy Name.
The Irish Franciscans
The Irish Franciscan Province was established in 1230. For nearly 800 years, the Irish friars have striven to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ following the example of Francis of Assisi, ministering to people throughout Ireland and overseas. The vision of St Francis was a simple one: he saw himself as living in a universe that reflected the beauty of God, sharing it with other creatures who he regarded as his brothers and sisters. The Franciscans devote their lives to the search for God in prayer, simplicity, brotherhood and service to others.
